DESCRIPTION:Yagódy is one of the most charismatic contemporary Ukrainian folk bands of the past decade. Founded in Lviv\, Ukraine\, in 2016 by Zoryana Dybovska\, Yagody (“berries”) is rooted in Ukrainian and Balkan musical traditions that perform on drums\, percussion\, guitar\, bass\, and accordion. \nWatch LIVE at KEXP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68WmaQDt2nk \nYAGÓDY are on a mission to preserve their culture by both reviving and reinterpreting folk songs while donning traditional clothing and costumes like the ornately embroidered Vyshyvanka. Sometimes heartbreaking and often rebellious\, YAGÓDY’s music is a testament to the land\, and spirit of the people of Ukraine. They poetically describe their concerts as\, “the songs of wild tribes. This is the voice of your ancestors. This is live energy. It is a dance with voices. This is how our nature smells. This is how our blood sounds.” \nThe self-titled debut album\, YAGÓDY\, released in 2020 introduced the world to their unique sound\, featuring powerful renditions of Ukrainian\, Bulgarian\, and Serbian folk songs. In 2024\, the group won over audiences at the Eurovision Songwriting Contest with their original song “Tsunamia” placing fifth at the national selection finals.

Their 1992 breakthrough album Grave Dancers Union featured the international hits “Runaway Train”\, “Black Gold” and “ Somebody to Shove”. “Runaway Train” won a Grammy\, and its groundbreaking music video brought nearly two dozen missing and exploited children and teens around the world home to their families. \nSOUL ASYLUM has released 13 original albums – including their most recent\, 2024’s Slowly But Shirley – with multiple live albums and assorted Greatest Hits collections. Their famous 1993 MTV Unplugged performance was released for the first time on vinyl as a coveted Record Store Day exclusive\, and November 2025 also saw the 30-year-anniversary reissue of their Let Your Dim Light Shine album. \nThis upcoming show offers a rare opportunity to see SOUL ASYLUM’s Dave Pirner and Ryan Smith perform an intimate\, one-of-a-kind acoustic set.
