The barn gives artists an opportunity to “go big\,” displaying large works on canvas\, moderately sized sculptures\, pottery\, and handmade furniture. That early experience sparked a lifelong fascination with the natural world\, one that continues through her botanical illustrations today. \nWorking directly from real specimens\, Hollender combines careful observation with artistic expression to explore the beauty\, diversity\, and interconnectedness of the plant world. Inspired by her book The Album of Plant Families: An Illustrated Exploration of Nature’s Beauty and Bounty\, this exhibition celebrates curiosity\, discovery\, and the many ways art can deepen our understanding of nature. \nAbout the Artist \nWendy Hollender is a botanical artist\, illustrator\, and educator whose work combines scientific accuracy with a deep appreciation for nature. RSVP encouraged. \nStroma is a three-piece band operating somewhere between shoegaze\, noise rock\, and experimental alternative music. Their songs drift through walls of feedback\, hypnotic repetition\, jagged rhythms\, and sudden moments of clarity— creating music that feels both confrontational and deeply reflective. \nGARY is the musical collaboration of vocalist/guitarist Skyler Smith and guitarist Sam Wheeler. Formed in late 2024\, the music mixes broad musical influences that range across decades from Bowie and The Stooges to early Flaming Lips\, Built To Spill and Smog. GARY wraps confidently intimate vocals with textural guitars and cinematic tension\, balancing moments of dreamy melancholy with accents of explosive energy.

SUMMARY:Moonlit Walk
DESCRIPTION:Experience Storm King from sunset through moonrise during this special guided\, after-hours event under a full moon with Storm King educators. Wear comfortable shoes\, and dress in layers\, as it often cools down quite a bit in the evening. Registration is required and space is limited. \nPlease arrive at the Art Center for the Moonlit Walk at 8PM. The tour starts at 8:30PM and concludes around 10PM. \nThis event takes place after regular Art Center hours. If you would like to visit Storm King before the program\, General Admission must be purchased separately.
