SUMMARY:Maverick Friday Nights - Rachael Yamagata
DESCRIPTION:With her unmistakable voice as a touchstone\, Hudson Valley-based singer/songwriter Rachael Yamagata returns on Starlit Alchemy not as the torch-song siren or heartbreak whisperer of years past\, but as a guide for transformation – shedding what no longer serves\, naming the ache\, and reaching toward something more. The songs off her long-awaited fifth studio album are a chrysalis in real time: A cinematic\, soul-stirring journey through grief\, surrender\, resilience\, and release. Equal parts storm and salve\, Starlit Alchemy roams the cave and the stars. It weaves galactic counsel into our human experience. It’s a soundtrack for personal excavation and mystical rebirth\, made to be felt in full. Reserved Hall Seats: $50/35\, $30/27 (partial obstruction) General Admission/Outdoors/Uncovered: $20\, Students: $10.

SUMMARY:iPSY Invasive Species Paddle
DESCRIPTION:Ever wondered what those bright yellow irises or feathery plants clogging up waterways are? Join the Catskill Center’s CRISP Aquatic Invasive Species Manager\, Sarah Coney\, and the Otsego County Conservation Association to “sus” out aquatic invaders along the Susquehanna River. \nPlease arrive prepared with non-cotton layers\, rain gear\, sturdy footwear\, and enough water\, snacks\, and lunch for the day. \nAdvance registration is required\, with a $10 suggested donation. \nPlease note: To help ensure the safety of all participants and provide the best possible experience for the group\, dogs are not permitted on Catskill Center guided hikes. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to hiking with you! \nDate: Sunday\, August 16th \nTime: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM \nLocation: Crumhorn Fishing Access to Portlandville Fishing Access \nDifficulty: Easy \nDistance: Approximately 3 mile paddle \nWe’ll focus on invasive plant and animal species found in the Susquehanna River\, how they were introduced\, how they impact the environment and our communities\, and how to identify them\, all while enjoying a leisurely paddle. This stretch of river is slow\, meandering\, and suitable for most experience levels\, though participants should be prepared for a 3-mile trip. \nParticipants are asked to bring their own watercraft (cleaned\, drained\, and dried) and should plan to be on the river for approximately three hours. We encourage participants to bring water\, snacks\, sunscreen\, and anything else needed to stay safe and comfortable. Life jackets are required and will be provided if needed. The event will be rescheduled if thunderstorms are predicted. \nIf you do not have your own watercraft\, visit Canoe & Kayak Rentals and Sales in Portlandville or call (607-286-7349) for information on renting one. \nThe paddle will start at the DEC Crumhorn Fishing Access site in Maryland\, NY\, and end at the DEC Portlandville Fishing Access Site in Portlandville\, NY. We are unable to provide transportation from the DEC Portlandville Fishing Access Site back to the DEC Crumhorn Fishing Access site\, so please be sure you have planned for this. \nAdvance registration is required.

SUMMARY:WAiV - Woodstock Appreciates its Volunteers
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, August 15\, for WAiV’s 22nd annual Day of Gratitude\, where the volunteers of the greater Woodstock area are heralded as Guests of Honor by their grateful community at the Mescal Hornbeck Community Center and Andy Lee Recreation Field. \nIt’s a day of gratitude where all of our volunteers\, both current and retired – and never asking to be thanked – are acknowledged for the considerable acts of kindness\, personal generosity and bravery they perform on a daily basis.  WAiV is a profound thank you and a sincere expression of our appreciation for those who make our community a better and safer place to live\, work and play. \nWoodstock is the only town in America that officially celebrates its volunteers\, and the Woodstock Volunteers Day Committee recognizes the members of all of our charitable and service organizations. Rather than a recruitment activity\, this Town Picnic and music festival is organized solely in their honor\, where they’re treated to lunch and their children and grandchildren are provided playful activities. \n\n\nWe invite you to join us at this festive event on Saturday\, August 15\, to celebrate our volunteers with food\, friends\, music\, and fireworks. \nIt’s all good!!
