SUMMARY:Invocation: Vuyo Sotashe & Chris Pattishall
DESCRIPTION:In this highly anticipated collaboration\, South African vocalist Vuyo Sotashe and American pianist/composer Chris Pattishall come together for an intimate and soulful evening of duets. Mainstays of the NYC music scene over the last decade\, Sotashe and Pattishall have each contributed to a wide range of projects spanning jazz\, gospel\, theater\, and film. Together\, Sotashe and Pattishall make music with a hushed vulnerability. \nFor this special engagement at The Local\, the program will range from the American masters of Duke Ellington and Nina Simone to South African Xhosa hymns and Stevie Wonder\, bringing the healing power of music to the forefront. They will also celebrate the release of their forthcoming EP\, Invocation. \nSince moving to the United States as a Fulbright Scholar\, Vuyo Sotashe has performed with celebrated jazz legends including Wynton Marsalis\, Dee Dee Bridgewater\, Jimmy Heath\, George Benson\, Al Jarreau\, Barry Harris\, and Winard Harper. He has appeared at Montreux Jazz Festival\, Monterey Jazz Festival\, Cape Town International Jazz Festival\, Newport Jazz Fest\, Joy of Jazz\, and Arcevia Jazz Festival. Described as “a bright tenor that can easily spring from sonorous depths to the full-bodied top of his impressive range” (The Atlanta Journal-Constitution)\, Sotashe made his off-Broadway debut in the Public Theater’s production of Black Light. Chris Pattishall has established himself as “an expert at using the jazz tradition as a jumping off point for experimentation” (JazzTimes) and his debut album Zodiac was called “a startling achievement” (NY Times) and “a hell of a debut album” (Stereogum). He is a featured performer on a wide range of recordings\, from the Grammy-nominated debut album of Jamison Ross to the film scores of Knives Out\, Nightmare Alley\, and the indie sensation Everything Everywhere All At Once. He co-composed the score to the Emmy-winning documentary Going To Mars: The Nikki Giovanni Project with Samora Pinderhughes.

SUMMARY:Patterson Hood & John Moreland
DESCRIPTION:Patterson Hood is an acclaimed singer-songwriter\, guitarist\, and co-founder of the Southern rock band Drive-By Truckers. His newest solo album\, Exploding Trees & Airplane Screams\, produced by Chris Funk (The Decemberists) will be released via ATO Records in February 2025. Hood has also released solo albums such as Killers and Stars (2004) and Heat Lightning Rumbles in the Distance (2012)\, showcasing his versatility as a songwriter. Whether fronting the Truckers or performing solo\, Patterson Hood remains a vital force in modern music\, celebrated for his ability to turn life’s raw realities into compelling\, soul-stirring art\, and continues to be a powerful voice in contemporary Americana and Southern rock. \nDrawing inspiration from storytelling traditions and a passion for rock\, country\, and soul\, Hood’s music often explores themes of Southern identity\, social justice\, and personal introspection. While best known as frontman\, singer\, songwriter\, and guitar player for Drive-By Truckers\, he is also a writer of essays\, columns\, and short stories as well as a solo performer and producer. \nJohn Moreland took an entire year off from playing shows and didn’t use a smartphone for 6 months. The result is Visitor\, a folk-rock record that is intimate\, immediate\, deeply thoughtful\, and catchy as hell. Moreland recorded the album at his home in Bixby\, Oklahoma\, in only ten days\, playing nearly every instrument himself (his wife Pearl Rachinsky sang on one song\, and his longtime collaborator John Calvin Abney contributed a guitar solo)\, as well as engineering and mixing the album. “Simplicity and immediacy felt very important to the process\,” he says.

SUMMARY:The Travelin' McCourys
DESCRIPTION:The river flows from a source deep\, abundant\, and pure. It’s right there\, on the map\, but it changes constantly\, carving the edges\, making new pathways\, gaining strength as it progresses forward. The Travelin’ McCourys are that river. \nThe McCoury brothers—Ronnie (mandolin) and Rob (banjo)—were born into the bluegrass tradition. Talk about a source abundant and pure: their father\, Del\, is among the most influential and successful musicians in the history of the genre. Yearson the road with Dad in the Del McCoury Band honed their knife-edge chops and encouraged the duo to imagine how traditional bluegrass could cut innovative pathways into 21st century music. \n“If you put your mind\, your skills\, and your ability to it\, I think you can make just about anything work on bluegrass instruments\,” says Ronnie. “That’s a really fun part of this—figuring the new stuff out and surprising the audience.” \nThe newest member of the band\, fiddler Christian Ward\, joined after Jason Carter moved on to pursue a solo career. BassistAlan Bartram and Cody Kilby on guitar\, they assembled a group that could take what they had in their DNA\, the traditions they learned and heard\, and push the music forward. In fact\, the band became the only group to have each of its members recognized with an International Bluegrass Music Association Award for their instrument at least once. There were peers\, too\, who could see bluegrass as both historic and progressive. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees The Allman Brothers Band\, improv-rock kings Phish\, and jamband contemporary Keller Williams were just a few that formed a mutual admiration society with the ensemble.

SUMMARY:Matt Berninger
DESCRIPTION:For Matt Berninger\, identity is amorphous and ever-evolving\, and stretches beyond individuality. This is the driving force of his second solo album Get Sunk. Under water\, everything moves in slow motion and Berninger saw his creative voice slipping away. But sometimes we have to drown to remember how to breathe. Get Sunk is the inhale\, bringing blurry realizations to the surface. \nThe collection of songs spans the last few years\, but Berninger re-recorded vocals and rewrote lyrics for many of the older compositions. “I got my voice back\, so I needed to say something new\,” he explains. Inspired by the flora and fauna of his new Connecticut home\, he recalled his childhood on the edge of Ohio\, and spending summers on his aunt and uncle’s farm in Indiana with his five cousins. They would hike in creeks\, cracking open “crystal apples” (a Berninger term for geodes) surrounded by Osage orange trees and dirt\, dust and bugs. They harvested Christmas trees and tobacco––Berninger admits he’s loved nicotine since first chewing on a tobacco plant when he was 12––and camped out. On one particular freezing night\, Berninger kept close to the fire and woke to find the soles of his shoes sizzling blue-violet. \nBerninger worked with Grammy Award-winning producer and engineer Sean O’Brien. \nVIP UPGRADE AVAILABLE AT CHECKOUT \nAll Ages\, Under 18 accompanied\n*All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be processed unless the headline artist cancels the performance*

SUMMARY:Lindsey Webster
DESCRIPTION:Prepare yourself for an unforgettable night with the soulful sounds of Lindsey Webster at Colony Woodstock. \nSome artists possess an unrivaled ability to channel their authentic selves in their music. The striking\, earthy\, and amiable chart-topping vocalist\, Lindsey Webster\, exemplifies this talent. Popmatters crowns her as “Classy\, consistent\, and exceptional” while All About Jazz declares she’s “keeping the tradition alive and taking it to the next level.” \n“I really feel comfortable in my skin right now\,” confides the Woodstock native who admits that Bob Marley is her #1 most streamed artist followed by the eclectic rotation of Yo-Yo Ma\, Mos Def\, Olivia Dean\, Aaliyah\, Mariah Carey and Jeff Buckley. “I’ve got incredible people in my life\, and I’ve learned to discern what is best for me. It’s all about remembering that\, sprinkled throughout the trying times are still sunny days\, joy\, and love.” Lindsey’s equanimous nature\, enviable vocal range and ability to craft candid and deceptively simple universal themes into timeless anthems\, have garnered her a devoted international fanbase. Soultracks once nailed it by declaring\, “If Carole King and Sade had a kid\, she would be Lindsey Webster.” Lindsey remarkably is the only other vocalist since Sade in 2010 to have had a #1 hit on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz charts. Lindsey’s sophisticated fusion of Neo-soul\, R&B\, Jazz and Pop\, shines on her anticipated seventh recording\, Music In Me (February 27\, 2026). She is joined by her long-time musical partner and pianist Keith Slattery\, as well as a several Grammy-winning artists\, including R&B favorites Stokley (Mint Condition\, Prince\, Mariah Carey\, Janet Jackson) and Anthony Hamilton (D’Angelo\, Angie Stone Jill Scott\, Al Green). Stokely not only duets with Lindsey but plays drums and percussion throughout the album. Music In Me also includes guest spots from Jazz/Hip-Hop trumpeter Keyon Harrold (PJ Morton\, Beyoncé\, Robert Glasper\, Maxwell)\, guitarist Isaiah Sharkey (D’Angelo\, John Mayer\, Patti LaBelle\, Keith Urban)\, and rapper/composer Kev Choice (Lauryn Hill\, Michael Frante\, Ledisi\, Goapele).

SUMMARY:Jack Manley w/ Joey Eppard and Leo Lovechild
DESCRIPTION:Indie Rock artist Jack Manley returns to Colony to deliver high-energy focused sets on Sat. March 28th with Joey Eppard\, and Leo Lovechild! \nJack Manley w/ Joey Eppard and Leo Lovechild \nSAT March 28th\, 2026 \nDoors 6pm | Show 7pm \nAfter a packed\, electric headline set this past November\, Jack Manley returns to the Colony—this time with more momentum\, a sharper band\, and new material in rotation. \nJoined by longtime collaborator and lead guitarist Billy Pearson\, drummer Noah Sonenstein\, and new bassist TJ Byrnes\, Manley blends crowd favorites with freshly workshopped songs\, delivering a focused\, high-energy set from an artist whose audience is growing fast and showing up louder each time. \nIf you were there last time\, you know. If you weren’t\, don’t fuck up. this is the one to catch. \nJACK MANLEY \nJack Manley is an indie / alternative rock artist from Kingston\, NY\, known for magnetic\, emotionally raw live performances and sweetly bitter songs that live between alternative + garage rock with post-punk elements and a dedication to introspective discovery. His work explores addiction\, masculinity\, grief\, and recovery with restraint\, intimacy\, and a sharp melodic sense. \nHis debut album Where Are You Going\, Where Have You Been? was written between pre-sobriety chaos and hard-won clarity\, tracing a descent and return through longing\, shame\, and cautious hope. Drawing from personal loss\, near-fatal overdoses\, and the quiet costs of modern life\, Manley’s music balances collapse and growth with resolve. Providing access to his core while avoiding ego or sentimentality. \nFor fans of Elliott Smith ‘s brutal intimacy\, The Strokes downtown cool\, Deerhunter ‘s woozy surrealism\, and MTV Unplugged In New York era Nirvana. \nHis debut\, solo EP Unmeasurable Terms is out now featuring Josh Eppard of (Coheed and Cambria) on drums.

SUMMARY:Old 97's with Lizzie No
DESCRIPTION:American Primitive\, the thirteenth studio album from Old 97’s\, arose from what vocalist/guitarist Rhett Miller refers to as a “de-evolution” of the legendary Dallas-bred band. “As much as I want us to calm down and grow up\, the songs that felt right for this record were mostly big and loud and brutal and dirty\,” says Miller\, whose bandmates include bassist Murry Hammond\, guitarist Ken Bethea\, and drummer Philip Peeples. Arriving just months before the 30th anniversary of Hitchhike to Rhome—a powerhouse debut that played a vital part in pioneering the alt-country genre—the result is a gloriously rowdy body of work\, revealing a veteran band more attuned than ever to the raw and reckless energy of truly timeless rock-and-roll.\n\nWith its title lifted from a bit of fictional art criticism in Stephen King’s psych-horror novel Duma Key\, American Primitive merges its unvarnished sound with the punchy yet poignant storytelling signature to Old 97’s\, radiating a rambunctious joy even as Miller’s lyrics contend with complex questions of love and mental illness and the routinely daunting state of the world. Produced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket\, The Decemberists\, Neko Case) and featuring iconic guest musicians like Peter Buck of R.E.M. and Scott McCaughey of The Young Fresh Fellows and The Minus 5\, the album took shape in a series of deliberately whirlwind sessions at Flora Studio in Portland\, Oregon. “This was the first record we’ve ever done with zero pre-production\,” Miller points out. “It’s us working completely on instinct\, leaning on 30 years of playing together to come up with something on the fly rather than overthinking any of our choices.”\n\nKicking off with the frenzied riffs and restless grooves of “Falling Down\,” American Primitive opens on a lyric encapsulating the album’s snarling joie de vivre: “You’ve got to dance like the world is falling down around you\, because it is.” Next\, on “Somebody\,” Old 97’s deliver a thumping punkabilly anthem channeling both desire and doom. “That song came from looking back over my relationship history and acknowledging that I spent a long time as something of a serial monogamist\,” says Miller. “As a young man I was in love with the idea of being in love\, and I wanted ‘Somebody’ to speak to the hopelessness of exiting a very intense relationship and knowing you’re just going to rush right into the next one.” From there\, American Primitive bursts into the breakneck urgency of its title track\, a gorgeous entangling of poetic observation and feverishly expressed longing. “I was sitting on the balcony of a hotel in Peachtree\, Georgia\, watching the sun setting over the forest and trying to identify the trees\, and I started writing what began as meditation on nature but eventually turned into a song about missing someone\,” Miller recalls. “I wound up taking inspiration from that phrase in the Stephen King novel\, which felt like a perfect description for our band and how primitive and unstudied we are.”\n\nAll Ages\, Under 18 accompanied\n*All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be processed unless the headline artist cancels the performance*

SUMMARY:James McMurtry with BettySoo
DESCRIPTION:A Lone Star sheriff hunts quail on horseback and keeps a secret second family. A mechanic lies among the spare parts on the floor of his garage and wonders if he can afford to keep his girlfriend. A troubled man sees hallucinations of a black dog and a wandering boy and hums “Weird Al” songs in his head. These are some of the strange and richly drawn characters who inhabit James McMurtry’s eleventh album\, The Black Dog & the Wandering Boy. A supremely insightful and inventive storyteller\, he teases vivid worlds out of small details\, setting them to arrangements that have the elements of Americana—rolling guitars\, barroom harmonies\, traces of banjo and harmonica—but sound too sly and smart for such a general category. Funny and sad often in the same breath\, the album adds a new chapter to a long career that has enjoyed a resurgence as young songwriters like Sarah Jarosz and Jason Isbell cite him as a formative influence.\n\nAs varied as they are\, these new story-songs find inspiration in scraps from his family’s past: a stray sketch\, an old poem by a family friend\, the hallucinations experienced by his father\, the writer Larry McMurtry. “It’s something I do all the time\,” he says\, “but usually I draw from my own scraps.” As any good writer will do\, McMurtry collects little ideas and hangs on to them for years\, sometimes even decades. “South Texas Lawman” grew out of a line from a poem by a friend of the McMurtry clan\, T.D. Hobart. Driven by gravelly guitars and a loose rhythm section\, it’s a careful study of a man whose feelings of obsolescence motivate him to take drastic action in the final verse. “Dwight’d stay at our house way back in the ‘70s\, when we lived in Virginia. During one visit he wrote this poem about his father’s attitude toward South Texas. He wrote it down on cardboard\, and I came across it recently. There was a line about hunting quail on horseback\, and that was the seed of the song. I’ve lost the poem since then.”

SUMMARY:Keller Williams
DESCRIPTION:Native Virginian Keller Williams released his first album in 1994\, FREEK.  Since then\, he’s given each of his albums a single syllable title: BUZZ\, SPUN\, BREATHE\, LOOP\, LAUGH\, HOME\, DANCE\, STAGE\, GRASS\, DREAM\, TWELVE\, LIVE\, ODD\, THIEF\, KIDS\, BASS\, PICK\, FUNK\, VAPE\, SYNC\, RAW\, SANS\, ADD\, SPEED\, CELL\, DROLL and now DEER. Each title serves as a concise summation of the concept guiding each project. Keller’s albums reflect his pursuit to create music that sounds like nothing else. Un-beholden to conventionalism\, he seamlessly crosses genre boundaries. The end product is music that encompasses rock\, jazz\, funk and bluegrass\, and always keeps the audience on their feet. \nKeller built his reputation initially on his engaging live performances\, no two of which are ever alike. For most of his career he has performed solo. His stage shows are rooted around Keller singing his compositions and choice cover songs\, while accompanying himself on acoustic guitar\, bass\, guitar synthesizer and drum samples; a technique called live phrase sampling or“looping”. The end result often leans toward a hybrid of alternative folk and groovy electronica\, a genre Keller jokingly calls “acoustic dance music” or ADM.” \nKeller’s constant evolution has led to numerous band projects as well; Keller & The Keels\, Grateful Grass\, KWahtro\, Keller and the Travelin’ McCourys\, Grateful Gospel\, More Than A Little and most recently DeadPettyKellerGrass. You can even catch him from time to time going back to his troubadour roots with his “Shut the Folk Up and Listen” series.   Keller can be found playing clubs and festivals with these projects and his tried and true solo looping show\, always changing things up and keeping moving.
