SUMMARY:Steve Wynn of The Dream Syndicate
DESCRIPTION:His email address and his Instagram handle are both “cultartist.” He’s never had a top 40 record or won a Grammy award. \nAnd yet Steve Wynn has forged a four-decade career in which he’s recorded over 400 songs and played well over 3000 shows to fans around the world who can name and debate every song across the dozens of records he’s made in his various musical guises. \nA cult artist indeed. And yet\, to talk to Wynn\, it’s almost as though it was the design from the start. \n“Sure\, I was a fan of the Beatles and the Stones but my passion always leaned towards the ones who lived below the radar. Most of my musical obsessions were bands like the Velvet Underground\, the Stooges\, Modern Lovers\, Gun Club—bands like that who never sold records in their time but who also made great records that just grew in stature over time.” \nThe first band that comes to mind for most people aware of Wynn’s music is The Dream Syndicate. Wynn founded the band back in 1982 with Karl Precoda\, Kendra Smith and Dennis Duck and their debut album “The Days of Wine and Roses” was a cornerstone of the indie rock scene that would develop in the band’s wake. \n“I’ve made a lot of albums and\, to be honest\, I like all of them and they’ve mostly been received really well but that one is the one that will always come up first with anyone who talks about my music. And I’m fine with that. I’m a fan of that record as well.” \nBut Wynn didn’t stop in 1982. The Dream Syndicate continued with three more records in the 80’s and then broke up in 1988. 29 years later they came back with “How Did I Find Myself Here\,” the start of a trilogy of new records made in Richmond\, Virginia that put the band back in the spotlight\, picking up where the band left off and taking the old sound to brand new places. \n*Infants and children under 6 are not permitted in the venue for amplified night time shows due to sound levels and crowded conditions.*\n*All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be processed unless the headline artist cancels the performance*

SUMMARY:Jazz: Bobby Previte Second Arrow Quintet
DESCRIPTION:SECOND ARROW is Bobby Previte’s first small band in some 20 years. With the exception of long-time collaborator and legendary bassist Jerome Harris\, Previte has populated the band with musicians he has as yet only admired from a distance—the magnificent pianist Angelica Sanchez\, the stunning guitarist Wendy Eisenberg\, and the deeply thoughtful Matt Bauder on woodwinds. These musicians have collaborated with an astonishing array of artists from all over the music spectrum. \n“I have been interested in the idea of a group that takes separate paths to the same goal\, and whose idea of playing “together” is broader than the usual “locked-in” approach. To quote my friend and the great musician Steve Swallow\, who said it better than I ever could\, ‘Interaction is overrated.’ The music for SECOND ARROW is probably the most ensemble dependent music I have ever presented—just a series of signposts for these particular improvisers\, directing them to the clearest path of connection. \nOr put another way\, “It’s not the notes you play. It’s how you play ‘em.”

SUMMARY:Dave Alvin & Jimmie Dale Gilmore - Almost Acoustic Duo
DESCRIPTION:Roots music legends\, the Grammy winning Dave Alvin and Grammy nominee Jimmie Dale Gilmore\, decided to join forces and play music together in 2017. Although Texas born Gilmore was twice named Country Artist of the Year by Rolling Stone\, and California native Alvin first came to fame in the hard rocking rhythm and blues band The Blasters\, they discovered that their musical roots in old blues and folk music are exactly the same. \n“a modern-day Merle Haggard and Willie Nelson” – Texas Monthly“Americana legends” – Santa Cruz Sentinel \nSince that discovery\, Dave Alvin and Jimmie Dale Gilmore have recorded two critically acclaimed albums\, TexiCali and Downey to Lubbock\, and continued to tour\, rocking the stage together with their band The Guilty Ones. \n“Alvin and Gilmore stay true to their rustic roots and weave a traditional tapestry that allows them to leave an individual imprint as well.” – Lee Zimmerman/Alternate Root

SUMMARY:Richard Barone and James Mastro: Nuts And Bolts Revisited Tour
DESCRIPTION:In 1983\, Richard Barone and James Mastro of The Bongos\, taking a break after an extensive U.S. tour that produced a batch of new songs written in hotel rooms\, planes\, and dressing rooms\, released a duo album called Nuts & Bolts. Recorded in North Carolina with Mitch Easter (REM\, Let’s Active)\, the album had a more acoustic and intimate feel compared to The Bongos’ recordings\, showing a different side of the two musicians. Influenced by folk-rock and power-pop sounds\, full of hooks and harmonies\, and performed with their signature spontaneous energy\, the album received critical acclaim and appeared on many best-of-the-year lists (including People magazine!). \nShortly after releasing Nuts & Bolts\, The Bongos made their RCA Records debut\, and Richard and James resumed touring with the band. Only a handful of live duo shows were played in support of Nuts & Bolts\, and the original label\, Passport Records\, folded\, making copies of Nuts & Bolts an instant collector’s item. Originally issued only on vinyl LP and cassette\, it was never digitized or released on CD until now. \nFast forward to spring 2026\, and Iconoclassic Records is releasing the meticulously restored and remastered Nuts & Bolts as a deluxe\, annotated CD. Richard and James are celebrating the release with select live performances in the Northeast and South that will feature the long-lost sounds of Nuts & \n*Infants and children under 6 are not permitted in the venue for amplified night time shows due to sound levels and crowded conditions.*\n*All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be processed unless the headline artist cancels the performance*

SUMMARY:The Psychology of Serial Killers and Why They Captivate Us with Dr. Rachel Toles
DESCRIPTION:Violent crime\, and the people who commit it\, has long held public attention. From mission-oriented offenders and serial homicide to family annihilators and copycat violence\, these cases often get flattened into headlines that prioritize spectacle over comprehension.\nCoverage tends to focus on the aftermath while paying less attention to the psychological and behavioral lead-up\, the warning behaviors\, and the escalation points that can be recognized earlier. That leaves the public with an incomplete picture of how violence develops and where prevention and intervention can realistically happen. Clinical and forensic psychologist Dr. Rachel Toles addresses those gaps by examining violent behavior through an evidence-informed psychological lens. \nDr. Toles is a lecturer\, a media contributor\, and a clinical and forensic psychologist with nearly 250\,000 engaged social media followers. Her work translates behavioral science into clear\, accessible explanations for the public\, and she’s frequently sought as an expert voice on violent crime and risk pathways.\nShe provides psychological analysis on current\, developing\, and lesser-known cases\, and serves as a resource for media outlets seeking deeper context beyond the headline. Her work includes analyzing the sequence of escalation that can precede serious violence\, examining why some offenders develop repetitive patterns over time\, and offering a clinical perspective on cases including Israel Keyes\, Jeffrey Dahmer\, Ted Bundy\, Richard Ramirez\, John Wayne Gacy\, along with lesser-known cases and investigative threads.\nDr. Toles has extensive experience in clinical and forensic evaluation settings and has focused her career on understanding the motivations\, behaviors\, and patterns of individuals who pose serious risk. She applies psychological assessment and forensic expertise in legal and consultation contexts\, contributing to case analysis and broader efforts to improve public understanding of violence and prevention. \nIn addition to her clinical work\, Dr. Toles regularly serves as an expert source for television\, film\, and news media. She has appeared on or been quoted by outlets including CNN\, NPR\, Newsweek\, the New York Post\, DailyMail.com\, A&E\, HBO Max\, and ABC News Nightline\, as well as more than 100 local media outlets across North America. \nDr. Toles is also the host of The Psychology of Serial Killers\, a live event examining the behavioral\, developmental\, and psychological pathways that can precede serial homicide. Through case-based analysis\, she explores how many offenders lived undetected for years and how cultural myths and missed warning signs can interfere with early intervention. Audience Q&A is a major segment of the show. Following successful tours across the U.S. and Canada\, The Psychology of Serial Killers returns with a new U.S. tour visiting nearly 30 cities from April through May 2026. \nThis event is for ages 13+ and will include subject matter and images that some may patrons may find disturbing.\n*All ticket purchases are final. No refunds will be processed unless the headline artist cancels the performance*
