The 35th Annual JPMorgan Chase Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival takes place September 4–6 at Union Vale’s Tymor Park in Dutchess County. Now in its fourth decade, this 3-day event draws upward of 25,000 visitors for five mass balloon ascensions totaling over 120 flights — launched at dawn and dusk against the backdrop of early fall foliage.
On the ground, enjoy live music, a Hudson Valley Handmade Artisans market, food trucks, a craft beer and wine tent, and family activity zones. Morning yoga on the lawn is free with admission. Evenings close with a “Moon Glow” balloon illumination and fireworks.

Tethered rides ($30, sold day-of) will lift you 30–50 feet off the ground. Full flights ($350/person for 45 minutes) sell out months in advance and require a $75 online deposit, with the balance in cash at check-in. All-weekend passes are available for $39.95;
