Summer Solstice Carnival

June 20 @ 2:00 PM

Celebrate the longest day of the year at Spiral House Park with an afternoon of music, food, art, and connection.

The Summer Solstice marks the sun’s peak and the natural world in full expression — a moment to gather, play, and honor our connection to the Earth’s rhythms. Join us for a family-friendly carnival set among the park’s sculptures, gardens, and trails.

Food & Drink Fuel up with plant-forward eats from Yeah Dawg and Pamana Kitchen, and raise a glass of local craft cider from Metal House Cider.

Music Megan Gugliotta brings a mystical woodland-meets-carnival energy with her electric violin — blending whimsical folk, cinematic strings, and high-energy looping. Anjali Aurora offers an intimate and emotionally rich acoustic set rooted in indie folk and soulful storytelling drawn from themes of love, connection, and transformation.

Performances Expect playful and surprising moments throughout the afternoon from the Mid-Hudson Juggling Club, Abby Higgs, and Buddy Valentine, with additional appearances woven through the day.

Crafts Local artist Anita Barber leads a hands-on linoleum stamp-making workshop. Families can make and decorate ribbon wands, and kids of all ages can create sun masks — turning paper plates into bright sun faces to wear in a festive solstice procession through the park.

Games & Activities Rainbow Bingo with Buddy Valentine, Upstate Jamboree Games, ring toss, cornhole, tarot readings with Lorien McCabe, and raffle prizes throughout the afternoon.

Come as you are, bring your people, and celebrate the light of the season.

Tickets are offered on a sliding scale of $20 – $30. We invite you to choose the price that feels supportive and accessible for you. Paying more, if you’re able, helps us extend lower-cost tickets to others in our community.
