Artist Adrian Lee will discuss the work on view of the exhibition, Mimetic Modes, in the Solo Gallery.
This solo exhibition presents a body of work by artist Adrian Lee, whose practice draws deeply from art history while engaging contemporary methodologies. Works combine oil, acrylic, and collage into complex, layered compositions. In Mimetic Modes, Lee employs convincing modes of representation alongside idiosyncratic motifs to challenge assumptions about what constitutes a “realistic” image, and what ideologies realism can conceal.
