There are also natural body care products, natural and organic pet foods, bulk organic coffee beans and tasty prepared vegan meals to go.

If you’re considering switching to a healthier diet, the store not only offers an array of organic and natural foods, vitamins, supplements and homeopathic remedies, there are trained consultants on hand to offer some insight into making the best possible nutritional choices.

The 200-acre CSA farm grows certified organic vegetables and plants, but also raises a small grass-fed beef herd and makes maple syrup and maple products. The retail farm store is located in a 250-year-old Dutch barn, where in addition to selling their own flowers, vegetables and maple products, they feature locally sourced items such as baked goods and bread. The store is open from May to October.

The independent natural grocery store offers the usual organic fare—a rainbow of fresh produce, nuts, grains, vitamins and supplements, but it also has a nice selection of gluten-free products and boasts some of the rarer flavors of kombucha as well as some hard to find vegan products. The center also serves fresh juices and soups for a quick healthy snack.

They had their own niche and it was selling locally produced food and supplements. Few if any of the corporate stores gave serious consideration to health-conscious customers. It was a fringe of the market that they were willing to ignore. Mother Earth’s Storehouse has always been focused on wholesome, nutritious foods and supplements that are not ladened with artificial ingredients. As the song proclaims, “We were country when it wasn’t cool”. Well, they were all natural when it wasn’t cool. Adams Fairacre Farms is a family-owned business with stores in Kingston (Lake Katrine), Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, and Wappinger with a new store now underway in the Middletown/Wallkill area on Route 211.
