Bright, cheery cafe with seasonal outdoor garden dining offers delicious, GMO fare. Some menu favorites are Veggie Lasagna, Artichoke and Castelvetrano Olive Bruschetta, Polenta Bites, and Dried Cranberry Scones. The restaurant is open Thursday through Monday.

The Green Palate’s organic, vegan and Non-GMO products are available in a variety of stores and restaurants. During the warmer months, you can find The Green Palate’s food truck in Woodstock or at many different food truck events across the Hudson Valley. Rosendale Cafe offers delicious wholesome vegetarian cooking—including some vegan dishes—in an intimate restaurant environment. The restaurant serves weekly entrees, assorted salads, exciting homemade desserts, organic coffees, six tap micro brews + wine.

Moonburger is a classic drive-through burger shop, but all the burgers are made with plant-based Impossible meat. The dairy-free burgers are served with a dairy-free bun and dairy-free cheese (for cheeseburgers) — and a dairy-free special sauce. You can also dine in at Moonburger.

The fun cafe—that is also an antiques store—serves a variety of vegetarian breakfast and lunch dishes. Try the Garlicky Egg Scramble, which is eggs, scrambled with kale, goat cheese, and garlic or the Carrot Cake Pancakes with cinnamon, cashew and toasted walnuts. The Curried Pumpkin Soup is delicious, as is the Kimchi Grilled Cheese made with sourdough.

Sweet Maresa’s is a bakeshop focused on crafting the highest-quality, ethically-sourced handmade desserts with integrity-driven, vegan, and fair trade ingredients. Their items are always made from scratch, down to the butter and the numerous jams found in the baked goods. They are proudly 100% palm oil free. The bakery specializes in vegan macarons and celebration cakes.

Aba’s offers lots of hummus, eggplant and falafel dishes, so there are multiple options for vegetarians and vegans. Top off the dishes with their signature cilantro garlic hot sauce, the very hot Harissa red sauce, a tangy Ama mango curry sauce, pickles or hot peppers.

Kitchen and Coffee is a 100% gluten-free, vegetarian cafe and bakery. They source local and organic ingredients, local micro-roast fair-trade coffees and fair-trade teas. The menu includes such tasty fare as coconut granola, banh mi bowls and sweet potato and black bean cakes.

Végétalien is a locally-sourced 100% plant-based cafe and juice bar. The menu changes based on seasonal ingredients that are sourced from Hudson Valley farms. The restaurant describes its goal as nourishing body, mind and spirit.

Peaceful Provisions is a family, minority and women-owned artisan doughnut shop specializing in compassionately crafted vegan doughnuts. The Vegan Stuff offers 40 flavors of amazing vegan ice cream, house-made with raw cashews and gluten free oat milk. Flavors include mint chip and rocky road, plus some flavors with alcohol—such as bourbon burnt caramel and Boozy Nutella. They also sell vegan and gluten-free brownies, cookies, chocolate cheesecake, apricot almond bars, and raspberry hazelnut bars.

Krishna Kitchen serves vegetarian and vegan Indian cuisine. One favorite is the Tofu Masala Dosa, which is marinated tofu tossed in tomato and cashew sauce enveloped in freshly made probiotic rice and lentil crepe. Served with a side of chutney. Or try the Shyama Bowl with crushed samosa, basmati rice, cilantro and mint sauce, plus seasonal vegetables. Another favorite is the Kofta bowl with six veggie dumplings in tomato and cashew sauce, basmati rice and string beans.

Lagusta’s Luscious makes heartbreakingly delicious confections by hand from truly artisanal ingredients. Everything made by the locavore chocolatiers is truly ethical, small-batch, and vegan. They offer a variety of bonbons, including hazelnut and cinnamon bonbons, plus peppermint patties and fudge.

The Green Bar offers quinoa bowls, smoothies, shakes, smoothie bowls and brunch toasts. Consider the Caesar Quinoa Bowl made with quinoa, romain, shredded carrots, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, parmesan and pumpkin seeds. Or imbibe a day’s worth of nutritious produce with a Daily Greens Smoothie, which contains kale, spinach, banana and pineapple juice.

Karma Road serves fresh organic vegetarian food for the soul, featuring soups, salads, curries, stews, smoothies, juices and delectable desserts. The restaurant works with several local farms, using as many in-season foods as possible. Try the Marinated Baked Tofu with walnut-basil pesto and red peppers or the Hybrid Burrito made with roasted potato, scrambled tofu, bean, grain of the day and vegan cheese.

The cruelty-free plant-based menu changes with the season and may such dishes as a Greek Salad and Falafel Plate made with sweet potato-sprouted mung bean falafel, walnut-crusted baked tofu tenders, coconut curry cabbage soup, a Goddess Yam bowl made with coconut turmeric quinoa and a “pizza casserole” made with cashew “ricotta cheese.” To-go orders only.

The Pan-Latin restaurant offers a variety of vegetarian and some vegan dishes, such as Rice and Beans with Garlicky Greens, Marinated Olives and Sweet Plantains. For dessert there is a Miso Chocolate Flan or a Plantano Loco sweet cream ice cream chili crisp. They also serve craft beer.

Although Poured Candle Bar is a candle shop offering the option of pour-your-own vegan candles, they also feature a beer and wine bar with a vegan menu of sweet and savory small bites. Try the cashew cheese, avocado and jam sandwich or the lemon dill hummus. For a sweet treat try the chocolate-on-maple bar.
