A Love Letter to My Backyard by Amanda Russo Rubman
This February it’s all about Love! Welcome to our series of Love Letters in the Hudson Valley where experiential artist Amanda Russo Rubman and several local changemakers and visionaries were invited to express their ode to love in original ways, to honor any person, being, or place in the region. Much of Amanda’s work is done in her Hudson Valley studio and backyard, so its only apropos to honor her sacred space.

ABOUT AMANDA RUSSO RUBMAN
Hudson Valley Experiential Artist and Award-winning Designer
A lifelong learner, Amanda Russo Rubman leads AR Studio NY, home to an evolving of her own artwork and collaborations that celebrate New York-based artists and vintage objects. More than just a medium, Amanda’s need to create comes from a desire to directly capture or harness a mood. Thus, her expression is more experiential, typically layering in texture and techniques that may include photography, motion, sculpture and antique materials. Amanda’s work has been exhibited at WAAM, Woodstock Byrdcliffe Guild, Woodstock School of Art, Kingston Design Showhouse, Artport Kingston, Inness, Hinterland, Weird Specialty, and featured in Upstate Art Weekend. Last year she was awarded the “NYCxDESIGN Award for Art & Design Installation”, which “demonstrates exceptional design in the form of art and installations” and honored with the Chronogrammies’ “Readers Choice Best Artist 2024”.
