Nearly 30 Unforgettable Performances: The Local Unveils Its Most Ambitious Season Yet

August 7, 2026

Few venues have transformed the Hudson Valley’s music scene as dramatically as The Local in Saugerties. In just a few short years, the intimate performance space has become a destination for music lovers eager to experience artists they might otherwise only see in major cities—or never have the opportunity to see at all. From Grammy winners and internationally acclaimed performers to groundbreaking musicians carrying centuries-old traditions into the future, The Local continues to prove that world-class music belongs right here in the Hudson Valley.

Launching its fourth season this September, The Local is presenting nearly 30 performances that span continents, cultures, and musical styles. Blues, jazz, Afro-funk, Americana, zydeco, Brazilian music, Tuvan throat singing, Indian classical music, chamber music, gospel, folk, and more all share the same stage, creating one of the region’s most adventurous concert calendars. Alongside internationally renowned artists, the venue continues its popular Local Waves series, offering free performances that spotlight exceptional Hudson Valley musicians.

Five Shows We’re Especially Excited About

Every performance promises something memorable, but a few stand out as can’t-miss experiences. Opening night features legendary Indian slide guitarist Pandit Debashish Bhattacharya, whose innovative playing has influenced musicians around the world. Blues powerhouse Alexis P. Suter returns with the commanding voice that’s made her a Hudson Valley favorite. Guitar virtuoso Kaki King continues to redefine what’s possible with six strings, while the mesmerizing Alash Ensemble brings the ancient art of Tuvan throat singing back to The Local after selling out its previous appearance. The season closes on a celebratory note with Damien Sneeds holiday concert, blending gospel, jazz, soul, and seasonal favorites into an uplifting finale.

The Local has built its reputation on introducing Hudson Valley audiences to artists they may never have discovered otherwise, all within one of the region’s most intimate listening rooms. Every concert feels less like a performance and more like an invitation into another culture, another tradition, or another musical conversation.

If you’re looking to experience some of the finest live music anywhere in the region this fall, this is your chance. Browse the full season, reserve your seats early—many performances sell out—and prepare to discover why The Local has become one of the Hudson Valley’s premier destinations for world music, jazz, blues, folk, and unforgettable live performances.
