The Borscht Belt Museum Brings Stand-Up Comedy Back to Its Roots in the Catskills!
Calling all Hudson Valley comedy fans! Looking for some fabulously funny comedy shows in the Catskills? As a fan, you’ve most likely heard the news and were very excited about the 2023 launch of the Borscht Belt Museum; which opens again this Spring. Well, hold on to y our hats, here’s some more exciting news! The museum has partnered with the New York Comedy Club to create a new stand-up comedy series in Ellenville, NY, a Catskills resort town once home to some of the region’s most storied hotels and nightclubs like the Nevele, the Fallsview, the Granite and the Homowack.
This 2024 series kicks off on March 16th at Shadowland Stages and features some of the country’s best known comedians, among them Michael Hirsch, Jesse Eigner, Rachel William and Eitan Levine. This exciting collaboration between The Borscht Belt Museum and New York Comedy Club highlights the soaring popularity of stand-up comedy in America–and The Hudson Valley, as the 7PM show quickly sold out! Looking ahead to next month, on April 27th the series will showcase local talent Anddy Egan-Thorpe, David Lonstein, Alejandro Morales and Christian Finnegan, a veteran of VH1’s Best Week Ever, Chappelle’s Show, and Countdown with Keith Olbermann. Spring and summer events are also in the works, with a major national headliner set to appear at one of the shows.
