The Bearsville Center is a revered 15-acre complex designed and built in the 1960s and 70s by legendary music impresario Albert Grossman, who managed musical heavyweights such as Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, Peter Paul & Mary, Gordon Lightfoot, Richie Havens and The Band.
At the heart of the recently renovated Center is the legendary Bearsville Theater, long celebrated by musicians and music lovers from across the globe. This magical 400-seat theater and attached lounge/bar – with an oversized window onto the stage – create an exquisite environment to enjoy your favorite musical artists. Evocative photographs, murals and artwork of artists including those of Dylan, Joplin, Bowie, Rundgren, John Sebastian, Jack de Johnette, Cindy Cashdollar, Kate Pierson and many more adorn the walls for your reminiscence and viewing pleasure.
Do come visit when you’re in town. Meanwhile, enjoy this visual tour of Bearsville and the Bearsville Theater with our great friend and Woodstock legend, John Sebastian.
