🎤 We launch this series with beccs @beccsmusic, a genre-bending singer-songwriter gaining a lot of national attention + buzz. 🚀 Take a quick peek 🫣 below for a taste of our exclusive interview:

INSIDE+OUT: You are very upfront about your sexuality and even wrote what you called “a queer inclusive Xmas ballad ‘Before This Christmas Ends.'” Tell us about the genesis of this song and the as-of-yet unrecorded one, “Make Him A God,” which you want to do with a full orchestra.

beccs: I think at the root of these songs, more than my queerness, is my philosophy around love and my work to reject the romantic tropes and roles we’ve been prescribed, which inevitably relates back to my queerness. I don’t think I would have been able to find love without it. 'Make Him A God' is my spiritual undoing of these tropes. I plan to record it and develop a musical around it in the future.

INSIDE+OUT: You’re new to the Hudson Valley, what makes the music scene unique here, and what local musicians most inspire you?

beccs: I’m really excited to dive deeper into the scene here. Some friends and artists I adore include:

I+O: It’s been a year since we last connected about your work. What new projects are you working on for 2025?

Amanda Russo Rubman 🎤 Since Fall, I have been working on “Untitled Narrative of Nature.” An installation of film, fashion, and sculpture— set in the landscape of the Hudson Valley. An invitation to invoke imagination through light and texture. Like all my work, it is an evolution from prior expressions.

I+O: Tell us about your upcoming show and event at the new hotspot in Stone Ridge: Friends and Neighbors by The Team at Audrey’s Farmhouse @audreysfarmhouse

Amanda Russo Rubman 🎤 It began with a welcome note to my new neighbor that led to a distinctive collaboration conceived out of a mutual desire to invite the community together and give back.
