Scene & Seen: Adel Chefredi Celebrates 25 Years of Exquisite Design

INSIDE+OUT Upstate NY was delighted to attend the 25th anniversary celebration of The Adel Chefridi Design Studio and five years of their retail flagship gallery in Rhinebeck, New York. 

Hosted by Adel Chefridi, guests enjoyed an evening of artistry as they toured the Design Studio + Gallery, met the makers, and explored the craftsmanship behind Chefridi’s award-winning designs, trying on beautiful rings, necklaces, and bracelets.

Here’s a sneak peak at the event and some of our conversation with Adel here in our next “Scene & Seen” Series for those who couldn’t attend.

INSIDE+OUT: Congratulations on 25 remarkable years of creativity and craftsmanship! As you reflect on this incredible journey, what does reaching this milestone mean to you personally, and how does it reflect the growth and evolution of Adel Chefridi Design Studio over the years?

Adel Chefridi: 25 Years is both a tremendous amount of time and incredibly short. Time is funny that way isn’t it? I learned so much, yet the horizon keeps receding and getting wider and more intriguing, but I can say with confidence that I’m now so much closer to knowing what I want to do when I grow up! : )

The studio has gained so much maturity in achieving a balance between creativity and quality of work. We are making so many more courageous and fresh one-of-a-kind pieces and new designs while retaining our identity.

Adel, how long have you been designing in the Hudson Valley, and what initially drew you to this region as a creative base?

Adel Chefridi: I’ve been creating my designs in the Hudson Valley for about 18 years. We originally moved here seeking a healthier, more balanced lifestyle for our young family—we prioritized our personal well-being over business at the time. But as it turned out, the move benefited both. The area has been incredibly creatively inspiring—surrounded by nature, abundant water, clean air, and ever-changing light and color. It’s a place that constantly feeds the imagination.

JEWELS + JUBILATION

The intimate event featured live music, tasty nibbles and sparkling sips. Guests enjoyed delicious bite-sized Tunisian desserts that were as precious as the jewels on display. Attendees also received a thoughtfully curated gift bag that included a complimentary piece of Adel Chefridi jewelry and more! What better way to end the day than with an after-hours evening of “Jewels and Jubilations” at the Adel Chefridi Design Studio!

Your jewelry has such a distinct and recognizable style. How has that aesthetic evolved over the years, and what influences have shaped it along the way?

Adel Chefridi: Life is essentially a journey of self discovery. Evolving for me has only one direction, knowing oneself on a deeper level. This has been and still is my trajectory.

What influences me the most is the team I’ve been lucky to share the studio with. We work together in an environment of creativity and their support keeps me from floating too far off the ground. The experience I’ve gained over the years helped me focus more on what’s essential, and have more courage to go to new places and explore more corners of my own depth, resulting in bolder one-of-a-kind pieces, a more distinctive bridal line and a richer collection.
