10 Things to Know About Shana Falana
Kingston-based singer-songwriter Shana Falana has shared a few things with INSIDE+OUT that reveal a lot about who she is: She believes it was her destiny to play and sing. Her greatest love is harmonies. She described her last album, Darkest Light, as “druggy music by sober people.” With wild creativity, humor, and a deep love for connection, Shana delights in making “darkly kaleidoscopic songs” that merge “elements of psychedelia, punk, and shoegaze to create her unique and mesmerizing style.”
Shana also weaves community through the choir project she spearheads, lovingly known as The Goddess Party, which meets and performs regularly in Kingston. What is your most treasured possession?
My SG guitar that I’ve written every single song on my whole life.
I no longer tour with it because I would be crushed if anything happened to it.
What or who is the greatest love of your life?
Harmonies, I love singing harmonies… greatest love of my life!
When and where were you the happiest?
These days I’m the happiest performing with my new band Shana Falana and the Crawlbabies.Just absolute pure joy.
What is your greatest fear?
That the aliens won’t be kind.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Driving a Chevy Tahoe.
What do you most value in your friends?
They’re all so cute.
Which talent would you most like to have?
The talent of not giving a F&@K
Who are your heroes in real life?
Anyone that takes the time to do kind things for total strangers.
What is joy for you?
Connecting people that need to meet! I’m a connector.

The Goddess Party, is an Art Choir embodied by 30+ local singers and a rock band, each member a powerhouse in her own right.
