Best Farm-to-Table Feasts in the Hudson Valley

By inside + out | May 27, 2025

Tucked between the Catskills and the Hudson River lies one of New York’s most fertile and flavor-packed regions: the Hudson Valley. Known for its lush farmland, artisanal producers, and sustainable food scene, this area is a haven for those craving authentic farm-to-table experiences. Whether you’re seeking a five-course meal served in a candlelit barn or a casual afternoon picking your own heirloom vegetables, Hudson Valley farms offer something magical for every food lover. In this guide, we’ll highlight the best farm-to-table experiences that celebrate the land, the farmers, and the incredible flavors they create.

From candlelit dinners and historic inns to alfresco harvest feasts beneath the stars, these events serve more than delicious meals—they dish out connection and a deeper relationship with the land. With these unforgettable farm-to-table dinners, you’ll meet some of the Hudson Valley’s most beloved chefs and farmers as they come together to craft unique seasonal feasts using the freshest, most lovingly grown ingredients around.

Enjoy our beautiful changing seasons through grown-with-love harvests, sip small-batch ciders and local wines, and wander through working farms or beneath the steady Shawangunk Ridge between courses. These truly farm-fresh, swoon-worthy dinners are bursting with earthy flavors, rooted in community, and totally worth clearing your calendar for.

This is fine dining for people who want to know their farmer and their forager—who want food served by people who are as excited to introduce you to their neighbors as they are to their just-picked heirloom veggies du jour. With a little mud on their muck boots. And maybe a bit of olive-fed Wagyu on their apron. And no, this isn’t a farm-to-table trend– it’s a full-sensory celebration rooted in history and place.

We can’t wait to join you at the table for these one-of-a-kind dining experiences that invite us to slow down and savor life one bite at a time…

Manor Rock Restaurant + Farm | Hudson + Taghkanic NY | @manorrockfarm

bar, counter and indoor space at Manor Rock Restaurant + Farm in Hudson and Taghkanic NY

Set in a historic townhouse in Hudson, New York, Restaurant Manor Rock celebrates the ingredients and ideology of their nearby Manor Rock Farm, where they grow an ever-changing harvest that becomes their extraordinary fare.

Their current harvest includes Arugula, Mizuna, Nelson Radish, Bacchus Radish, Dill’ Thalia,’ Cilantro’ Cruiser,’ Mustards, Chard, Kale, Collard, Chervil, Bok Choi Hautai,’ Komatsuna ‘Tatsu,’ Baby Broccoli Leaf’ Fiolaro,’ Fennel fronds’ Parma sel Prado,’ Mangalitsa and Kunekune pork, and Naked Neck chicken.

Manor Rock Farm in Taghkanic is the embodiment of loving sustainability in action. Seeds sourced from organic and biodynamic growers have become a rich garden of herbs, fruits, and vegetables within high tunnels, greenhouses, and in Nature, herself. What was a fallow forest is now a lush home for Mangalitsa and Kunekune pigs to run wild. All that becomes the inspiration for raved-about dishes and ingredients that were nurtured and cultivated by human touch.

Established in 2024, the restaurant offers a place to share thoughtfully grown and raised farm products and is the final step of curation for efforts that start months, sometimes years, prior. Set in a relaxed yet refined dining environment, the ingredients speak louder than any service descriptor could. Your meal may not be served plein-air, but this is farm-to-table at its finest.

Open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 9 pm and Sunday lunch from 12 pm to 4 pm.

Laughing Fork Farm | Highland NY | @laughingforkfarm

people eating in the barn at Laughing Fork Farm in Highland NY

At Laughing Fork Farm, you can join their friendly crew for their Spring Farm-to-Table Dinner. Serving up delicious 5-course dinners by Chef Wilfrido Landaira and accompanied by a welcome cocktail, this is a rain-or-shine event as the dinner. Set in their beautiful 19th-century 2,000 sq’ Dutch barn, you can also explore their beautiful 14-acre private oasis. Back at the table in the barn, you will enjoy a feast prepared by Chef Wilfrido Landaira, who has a passion for hyper-local farm-to-table cuisine, as in “picked from the bed an hour before being delivered to the kitchen” kind of local.

After graduating from the Institute of Culinary Education in NYC, Chef Wil worked with award-winning restaurants and Michelin-trained chefs throughout the Hudson Valley. He believes that local products–from the produce and livestock used in a dish to the plate you eat it from– should take center stage in a meal and that thoughtfully raised and grown products simply taste better. You will have to try for yourself! And while you’re at this historic rodeo and horse farm, you can pick up some goodies in their farm store (a formerly converted bridle barn) that offers their seasonal produce (grown in the black dirt region of the Hudson Valley) and other locally sourced products.

Stonewood Farms Sunday Harvest Dinners | Millbrook NY | @stonewoodny

grilling for Sunday Harvest Dinner at Stonewood Barn in Millbrook NY

Now in its fifth season, the Sunday Harvest Dinner series is the Milbrook-based farm’s signature fundraising effort, during which guests enjoy a seasonal menu by a guest chef. One Sunday each month during the growing season, they open the doors of their Cookhouse to share the ritual of a traditional Sunday meal. These dinners are sell-out, intimate gatherings that bring together noted chefs and community members to celebrate the bounty of Stonewood’s harvest and that of some of our favorite local farms and artisans. As expressed on their site, “We hear time and time again, you won’t find a more delicious and convivial culinary experience in the Hudson Valley. And perhaps more significantly, all proceeds from these dinners directly support the First Harvest Food Pantry and our other community outreach programs. Our guests can feel good that, while enjoying a freshly prepared meal, they’re supporting our food-insecure neighbors to do the same.” And they proudly add, “Around our table, simple dinners become ritual, new friends become extended family, and new experiences become cherished memories.”

Though tickets to these delicious dinners sell fast, a waitlist is available, and you can learn more about upcoming dinners by signing up for their newsletter.
