Warming the Homefront with Bottini Fuel in Saugerties NY

Keeping Hudson Valley Military Veterans, Active Duty Personnel and Their Families Warm

By inside + out | November 10, 2023

In honor of Veterans’ Day, INSIDE+OUT is proud to feature Bottini Fuel, which is once again partnering with Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance (HVVA) on its “Warming the Homefront” program. Created to help local military families in need, the program launched in 2018 with the goal of providing heating fuel to at least 200 local military veterans, active-duty personnel and their families during the cold winter months.

With seven locations throughout the Hudson Valley, Bottini Fuel is the region’s largest family-owned heating oil and propane distributor, serving tens of thousands of customers annually. Bottini has so far donated over 8,900 gallons of fuel to “Warming The Homefront,” including delivery to more than 90 military families to date.

“There are thousands of vets in the Hudson Valley area, and the need is great,” said Rick Bottini, co-owner of Bottini Fuel. “With winter coming, we wanted to galvanize the community to support these people who have made tremendous sacrifices for all of us and continue to do so. Our goal is to provide 100 gallons of free fuel this season to at least 200 military families and veterans in the Hudson Valley. But we can’t do it alone.”

To make a donation, please visit www.warmingthehomefront.com. All donations are tax-deductible and go directly to the Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance. If you have questions about the program or know of a veteran or a family with a deployed loved one who may qualify for heating assistance this winter, contact Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance at [email protected].

Hudson Valley Veterans Alliance is a grassroots 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping all local veterans who need help rebuilding their lives, including bridging the gap that separates them from vital services. Members of HVVA are trained in peer-to-peer services and are strongly connected to veterans affairs services, local legions and VFWs, local universities and mental health agencies. HVVA verifies eligible military families for their participation in the Warming the Homefront program. They also accept contributions and process fuel payments on behalf of the program.
